The Knotty Pine 5K & Fun Run will break from its tradition of taking place in downtown Swainsboro on the morning of the Pine Tree Festival this year. The run will instead be held on the campus of East Georgia State College, Saturday, April 30, 2016. The change in location and time was conducted in an effort to coordinate the run with the Smithsonian exhibition Hometown Teams: How Sports Shape America, presented by Georgia Humanities. The Pine Tree Breeze Bike Ride and the Pine Tree Festival Tennis Tournament will be held on the campus on the same day and will conclude the exhibit which officially closes that afternoon.
